Exciting news! Tidal Effects is now supporting the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy (AWSC) to help support shark research.
In the summer of 2016, I took my children to Chatham, MA to visit the new Chatham Shark Center that had recently opened. We loved it and I was enthralled with the displays and educational information about white sharks. We put on virtual reality goggles and were immediately transformed into scuba divers swimming with sharks. We excitedly looked at the life size replica of JAWS (I ran away screaming, just like I did when watching the movie at 10 years old). We looked at photos and videos and read in awe about these beautiful creatures. Our visit was amazing. It brought me back
to a time in my childhood when my biggest dream in life was to be an oceanographer, just like Jacques Cousteau.
At the end of that visit I found myself wondering "How can
I be a part of this?"
I had been planning on introducing a shark design for the 2017 collection
of baby onesies and bibs, and a little light went off in my head. "Aha!"
So here we are with an exciting announcement. Tidal Effect is introducing a line of limited edition shark items. More importantly, for each item sold, Tidal Effects will make a donation to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, who is dedicated to supporting white sharks through research and education. Full circle, right? I love it when things work out like that!
Shark items will be available for purchase on the website and at select retailers. Look for the shark on the clothing and for the tag that says "Thank you for supporting Shark Research!"
So, maybe in my own mind, I can call myself an honorary oceanographer now? I'm going to put this down as achieving one of life's dreams. Of course,
I need the items to sell so I can make huge donations! Thank you for supporting a local business AND Shark Research!
The Chatham Shark Center is located at
